The event is chaired by Frankie Fruge and she has been most effectively shaking prize money out of cheerful donors for several years now to reward successful participants. The total purse has been between $2,500 and $5,000, and it varies closely with the number of participants. Yes, the rules did change, since it was discovered that holding the throttle of an antique carriage open for an eighth of a mile is way over the top. What all this means, is that you should be well on your way to tuning up your steam vehicle. Come, share, make a few runs and take home a bundle and a well earned prize. Call Bob Edwards to get your name on the list. Arrive early to enjoy the meet and make some runs around the yard plus your practice runs before the Time Trials.
